Bonnie Geist, owner and operator of Norristown Transportation Company, Inc. and Mid County Transportation Service, Inc., is awaiting her retirement from a long career in transportation, as the final transfer of her businesses to Easton Coach Company is effective on November 1st. Norristown Transportation and Mid County Transportation are founding members of TransNet, providing paratransit service to the Norristown and North Penn areas of Montgomery County since 1978.   • 11/3/2014 - Sustainability Day TransNet participated in Campus Sustainability Day at Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) in Blue Bell on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. TransNet's exhibit highlighted our CNG vehicles which were introduced to our fleet in early 2014. MCCC's Sustainability Day theme for 2014 was "Empowering Change on Campus and in the Community", and the event included many exhibits focusing on various "green" initiatives. MCCC and Communities in Motion (A GVF TMA Foundation) also hosted high school students at the Blue Bell campus for Sustainability Career Day where students could learn about professions and future careers in sustainability.   • 11/3/2014 - 2014 Race to Excellence TransNet is currently competing in the 2014 Race to Excellence through Best Workplaces for Commuters. TransNet competes each year as a supporting agency to assist employers and colleges in addressing the commuting needs of their employees and students. During this year, TransNet has focused on assisting several organizations in implementation of new services or expansion and improvement of current services. TransNet received a Silver medal in 2011, and a Gold medal in 2012 and 2013. The race ends on November 30, 2014. Wish us luck!
