  • Customer Appreciation Week Although we appreciate and thank our customers all throughout the year, during the week of April 28th through May 2nd, TransNet drivers offered our passengers a special Thank You.In addition to a friendly smile and a sincere thank you, they also presented passengers with a small token of our appreciation, a TransNet water bottle.TransNet staff also presented our Shared Ride and Persons with Disabilities Advisory Committee members with a hearty Thank You and a water bottle, during the meeting held on April 30th.

Maria Church was presented with the Superstar of Transit Award at the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association (PPTA) Spring Conference and Expo on April 23rd in Lancaster.Maria Church has been an essential part of the TransNet team for more than 14 years. She has transformed the Risk Management and Training programs into a comprehensive, ever-changing, and constantly improving plan. Maria's accomplishments are many, including training certifications for Defensive Driving, CPR and First Aid, through the National Safety Council, travel training through Easter Seals, and she is a certified accident investigator.   • Earth Day 2014 TransNet was excited to display some of our newest additions to our fleet during Earth Day events this year. TransNet is currently operating three new fourteen passenger vehicles and one new twenty passenger vehicle, all powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). These vehicles were converted through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities.   • Tri County Employees Receive Award of Excellence TransNet held an Employee Appreciation Day for Tri County Transit Service employees, in Limerick, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.Tri County Employees enjoyed a buffet luncheon with co-workers, and received a sling bag as a token of TransNet's appreciation for a job well done.There was also a short awards ceremony led by Jim Tammaro, where two Tri County drivers, Tom Ondik and Dave Bickley received the Award of Excellence presented by Patricia Moir, TransNet's Executive Director.   • TransNet Sustainability Update TransNet continues to expand its sustainability programs in Montgomery County, beginning with the implementation of new state of the art automated scheduling software in 2012.  The Ecolane scheduling software enables TransNet to schedule and route trips more efficiently. TransNet is in the process of rolling out a new Center Portal component of the software, that will assist administrators of many Adult Activity, Employment, and Healthcare centers coordinate transportation for their consumers.  Administrators are able to cancel trips through the portal, and easily view the status of the daily transportation for each consumer.  The portal will assist in reducing no shows and improving the eff...
